The Clinical Study of Dinol^(®) in Suppression and Prevention of Heterotopic Bone Formation

Abstract

|
|
Twenty-two patients were subjected to clinical study of Dinol® in suppression and prevention of Heterotopic bone formation. Sixteen patients were received artificial hip joint replacement, five patients were received internal fixation due to hip area fracture, anc another one patient was found to have ectopic bone formation incidentally.
The results are as follows
1. Among the total twenty-two patient, 2 patients were found to have ectopic bone formation.
2. Among the patient who received the Dino1® therapy after artificial hip joint replacement, no patient was found to have the evidence of ectopic bone formation on X-ray aria clinical follow-up.
3. The two patients who showed the finding of ectopic bone formation, had the history of head trauma and injury.
4. After Dinol® therapy to the patients who showed the finding of ectopic bone formation, there was no finding of further progression of ectopic bone. The ectopic bone was -gressed and resorted rapidly.
